Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you originally from?

I was born on Long Island, New York, and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stony Brook University and my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry. My family and I later chose Virginia as our home, and today I am proud to call Fauquier County home.

What is your professional background?

I have practiced dentistry for more than four decades as a small business owner and healthcare professional. In addition to practicing in the United States, I have worked internationally and gained valuable experience building businesses, managing employees, and serving patients from diverse backgrounds.

What languages do you speak?

I speak English and have varying levels of proficiency in Spanish, German, Russian, and Greek. My international experiences have given me an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.

Are you the author of Saving Amberleigh Station?

Yes. I wrote Saving Amberleigh Station: A Community at War with Data Centers to document the experiences of residents confronting large-scale industrial development in their community and to help other citizens understand how local government decisions can affect their quality of life.

Why are you running for Fauquier County Supervisor?

I believe county government should be transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves. I am running to protect Fauquier County's rural character, support responsible growth, preserve property rights, and ensure that residents have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their communities.

Have you ever filed for bankruptcy?

Yes. In 2017, after experiencing significant financial challenges, I made the difficult decision to seek bankruptcy protection under federal law. Like many Americans who face unexpected hardships, I used a legal process designed to help families reorganize and move forward.

The experience strengthened my appreciation for financial responsibility, perseverance, and the challenges faced by working families. Since then, I have continued operating my professional practice, supporting my family, serving my community, and pursuing new professional and civic endeavors.

I believe voters deserve transparency, which is why I choose to address this topic directly.

What is your philosophy of public service?

I believe elected officials should listen first, communicate honestly, and remember that they work for the citizens they represent. My goal is simple: put residents first, make decisions based on facts, and protect the long-term interests of Fauquier County.
